Before leaving for their pilgrimage to India, Jaya Gora and Vana gifted us all a new sign for our community center. Jaya Gora did all the wood-work, Vana painted the gorgeous flowers and they engaged many other members of the community in the creating process. Thank you to everyone for making it happen - it was certainly a collective effort and the result is simply beautiful!

Kaunteya Das has mad professor eyebrows, and his wife Radha Govinda Devi Dasi has a hawk's gaze. It's hard to describe all they've done and do.. so we'll just call them masterminds of community development and point out that Kaunteya Das is the Global Congregational Development minister as well as a chief fellow of the GBC College, and a Chair of the GBC Organizational Development team.

Meet Yashoda, our community's newest member. Yashoda was rescued from a farm a few hours away - she was going to be sent to the slaughter house due to having bowed legs.

She's young, intelligent, soft, timid, humble and ready for some love. She's also a rather picky eater but loves bananas, apples, green veges and grain feed. Feel free to visit her at Goloka Prema Dham: 9756 Ferder Rd., Maybee, MI 48159.

A few weeks ago Sarah Rigg from @concentratemedia reached out to do a story on our community. After interviewing a few community members and attending a Kirtan Night, she wrote a fabulous article and had her photographer, @doug_coombe , take some brilliant images during the kirtan. Doug stayed late that Thursday and while hanging out shared how, many years ago, he had eaten at the restaurant that used to operate out of the Detroit Temple, a.k.a the Fisher Mansion.
